I’m a married (20th Anniversary this August), Father of 2 sons, who turned 40 in 2017. I live at the centre of it all (well, North America at least, geographically, that is) in Winnipeg, Manitoba.
I’ve been a runner since High School, starting out with road 10k’s, triathlons and half-marathons. Eventually that increased to road marathons, and within the past 5 years my true love of trail ultras. On 2017, since I became officially “over the hill”, I created my own Epic40 year which included many adventures. Most notably, I was able to complete the Superior Spring 50k, Voyageur 50 mile, and Superior Fall 100 mile, my first 100 mile finish. I was also able to crew and pace my good friend and super-fast, talented, and hard-working runner, Mallory Richard, at Western States Endurance Run, the grand daddy of 100 mile races. She had an amazing race and finished 11th Female. Turns out the epicness has continued into my 40s, and in June I completed Bighorn 100 Miler, my second 100.
After 18 years in vocational pastoral ministry, circumstances made for a change and though I wouldn’t have expected that change, I’m excited for the future. What fills my days? Nearly a year ago I began working at an amazing local, independently-owned running store, City Park Runners. And if you’ve seen the rest of this website, I’m also working at organizing some great trail and ultra events in Manitoba, which I’m super excited about.
