About

As a Pastor for nearly 2 decades, I had the opportunity to hone skills of listening, compassion, encouragement and challenge. Eventually it was time for a change and after a stint in retail sales I started as a Personal Trainer and Group Coach at North Star Fitness where those skills learned over decades are helping people of all types reach their fitness goals.

I enjoy running and since High School have run track, road races and in the past 10 years almost exclusively trail races, completing distances up to 100 miles and beyond. My most notable finishes include Fat Dog 120, Superior 100, Bighorn 100, Canadian Death Race (125k), Black Hills 50 and Voyageur 50. I am also involved in the Manitoba trail running community, volunteering with local trail organizations and coordinating many trail races as founder and race director of On The Edge Running.

But I’m not just a one-trick pony. Working out at North Star Fitness for a year prior to being hired I fell in love with kettlebell and barbell movements. As for other activities, I also enjoy cycling, sliding across the snow on cross-country skis in winter, or paddling a canoe in summer.

In addition to getting strong, I believe that moving well and pain-free is important for people at all stages of life. I approach personal training with the philosophy that you are the hero of your own story, and that every hero needs a guide along their journey especially when working through crisis or challenges. I would love to be that guide for you so you can reach your goals, stay active well into your older years and have fun doing so.
